Website Redesign Case Study
Johnstone’s Barbececues and parts My job was to redesign a website that I thought could use some retouching. I chose the website of a local barbecue store in North Vancouver. Below, I am showing images of before and after designs. Ultimately, this became an extension of my Barbecue assignment, as that was the store, I was basing my rebrand off of. Print Shop Proposal
Embark on a visual odyssey through the visionary proposal of Terminal Tech Printing, a sustainable print shop poised to redefine Vancouver, BC’s graphic design landscape. Our portfolio unveils an innovative merger of creativity and environmental consciousness, setting the stage for a new era in responsible printing. The theme of this print shop is, well… Vancouver: “The Terminal City.” At the heart of Terminal Tech Printing lies our emblematic logo—an intricately vectorized skyline of Vancouver, framed by the towering peaks of the coastal mountains. This symbol not only encapsulates the spirit of the city but serves as a visual testament to…
Wild Side Energy Drink
One of the projects which I worked on with a team, was to come up with an energy drink concept. The name we agreed on was “Wild Side” energy with the tagline “unleash your inner animal.” Unlike leading brand energy drinks (Red Bull, Rockstar, Monster, Amp, etc.), this would be a health energy drink which doesn’t include taurine, or excess caffeine in it’s ingredients. Concept Design In order to convey the message of an energy drink, we thought it would be crucial to have a name that resonated with young adult audiences who are on-the-go professionals who exercise regularly. The name “Wild…
Barbecue Store Rebrand
For one of my projects, I was tasked with redesigning a local business. The business I chose was a local barbecue store based in North Vancouver. I came up with a branding theme which resonated well with the idea of barbecues and accessories. I wanted to include a fiery theme with the brand. I did so using hot colours such as dark red, bright orange, and black. In addition, I made a patio texture to compliment the outdoor Summer theme of barbecuing. I realized that this could also be interpreted as a fireplace texture during the Winter months as well.…
Durban 2040 Summer Olympics Proposal
A potential city for a future Summer Olympic Games would be Durban, South Africa, in 2040. The Olympic Games have never in the history of the Olympics been held on the continent of Africa, therefore, this would be a major turning point. In recent years, the African continent, and all of its nations have been gaining more recognition in the public eye and in the world economy. With an Olympic Games in South Africa, I was given a lot to work with in this portfolio. Durban has a rich aesthetic with its British and Dutch colonial history, indigenous African culture,…
NBA Expansion Concept: The Vancouver Mammoths
Basketball fans including myself have been hoping that the NBA would return to Vancouver after losing its beloved Grizzlies in 2001. As a designer, I took it upon myself to create a new expansion franchise concept for if the NBA decided to make a comeback to Vancouver. The concept was “The Vancouver Mammoths”: giants of the Ice Age with a historical presence in British Columbia that emanate power, strength, and of course, our region’s history. The depiction is a blue woolly mammoth with a determined but memorable expression. The logo was designed with scalability and applications in mind. In comparison…
